Leather identification wallet; stamped: "Texas Ranger Force / W.P. Hobby, Governor. / James A. Harley, Adjutant General." Contained several papers that were removed for preservation concerns and sent to the archives. The contents are as follows: 3 - Receipts to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows - dated: 07/01/1921; 12/21/1912; 12/31/1923 1 - Poll Tax Receipt, State of Texas, County of Presidio, 01/03/1924 1 - Identification Card, Resident of El Paso, Texas 1 - Registration Certificate, 09/1918 1 - Certificate verifying the election of Vaughan as Sheriff of Presidio County, Texas (no date) 1 - Certificate verifying Vaughan as elected Sheriff of Presidio County, Texas; 11/05/1921 (page is torn into two pieces) 1 - Newspaper clipping 1 - Copy of Knights of Columbus Oath 1 - Commission Certificate for Vaughan to serve in the Texas Ranger Force, 09/10/1918 (this was originally under the vinyl sleeve in the wallet, however for preservation concerns, it was removed). |
