Life size (plus) of George B. Erath with surveyors gear mounted on granite stone in front of the museum. He holds a tripod over his shoulder, and a rifle resting on the ground. Commissioned for Indian Springs Park in 1976 (reference to Indian Springs Park is probably actually Fort Fisher Park). The base reads "Major George B. Erath / 1813-1891 / Father of Waco-Champion of Texas / Surveyor-Statesman-Ranger". |
