Bronze #19/50 of "Major George B. Erath-Frontiersman" by Robert Summers. Bronze with light brown patina on cherry oval base. Full figure portrait of Major Erath standing with one leg and his gun propped on a rock and a surveyor's tripod over one shoulder. He also carries a pouch over his other shoulder, a powder horn hanging from his neck, a pistol and an ax stuck in his belt and a notebook in his pocket. Small scale version of monumental portrait commissioned for Indian Springs Park, Waco, Texas in 1976. |
