Description |
Bronze #19/50 of "Major George B. Erath-Frontiersman" by Robert Summers. Bronze with light brown patina on cherry oval base. Full figure portrait of Major Erath standing with one leg and his gun propped on a rock and a surveyor's tripod over one shoulder. He also carries a pouch over his other shoulder, a powder horn hanging from his neck, a pistol and an ax stuck in his belt and a notebook in his pocket. Small scale version of monumental portrait commissioned for Indian Springs Park, Waco, Texas in 1976. Lazy susan is stored in box MC.002 on Collection Storage Shelf 9C. |
