Winchester Model 1866 .44 caliber rifle, silver with engraving with leaf motif, ivory stocks. Third Model 1866; velvet inlay under silver plating on stock; engraving and ivory later additions (see Notes). Engraving and ivory stocks were modeled after a very rare Winchester factory presentation Model 1866 given to a high-ranking political figure in Latin America; engraving and stock reproduced by Frank E. Hendricks and Richard "Dick" Story for Dr. John R. Palmer. s/n 90317. |
