Tom M. Ross was born Aug. 1, 1871 in San Antonio, Texas to John and Maria Ross. He first enlisted in Co. E Frontier Battalion under Capt. John H. Rogers from Jan. 1893 to April 1896. He would later reenlist in Co. D under Capt. John R. Hughes in Jan. 1902. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1905, and eventually made Captain of Co. B in Feb. 1907. His discharge date is not listed, but he remained until at least 1909. He later became an Interpreter for the US District Court in San Antonio, a position he held for 15 years. He passed away on Jan. 1, 1946 and is buried in Rossville, just outside San Antonio, Texas. |
