Notes	James E. Ray joined the Texas DPS in 1957 with the Texas Highway Patrol. He promoted to the Texas Rangers in 1969, attaining the rank of Sergeant and specializing in advance fingerprint identification. He also worked in the Headquarters Communications Division. He retired from the Rangers in 1993.
