He joined the Texas DPS in 1937 with the Texas Highway Patrol. He promoted to the Rangers in 1942 and was stationed in Houston for much of his career. He promoted to Captain in 1958, and as a Captain in the Garrison era, he is said to have been instrumental in maintaining Ranger tradition and performance. He retired from the Rangers in 1971, and passed away on July 16, 1986. |
