E. B. McMordie was born in Round Rock, Texas in 1872 to Francis and Mary McMordie. He enlisted as a Sergeant in Texas Ranger Co. HQ on Feb. 15, 1921 and resigned Aug. 31, 1922. He had a Railroad Ranger commission from Sept. 1922-Sept. 1924. He again enlisted as a Private in Co. HQ on Nov. 25, 1927 and resigned Nov. 30, 1928. He had a Special Ranger commission from Dec. 1928 to Dec. 1929. Around this time he became Chief of Police at Mexia. At some point he moved to Gatesville, where he passed away in 1941. |
