Joined Texas DPS in 1972 with the Texas Highway Patrol and Narcotics Division, and promoted to the Texas Rangers in 1986. Attained the rank of Sergeant and served in Co A in the Houston area. His Ranger specializations included interviewing, photography, officer-involved shootings, court testimony, and he served as a Ranger instructor and Ranger CSI training head instructor. He received the DPS Director's Citation for his role in the arrest and prosecution of "The Railroad Killer" Rafael Resendez, and the ATF Director's Award for the David Koresh investigation. After retiring from the Rangers in 2010, he was appointed Deputy Director of Law Enforcement Division, Texas Attorney General's Office. |
