Tom Joined the Texas Dept of Public Safety as a Trooper in1897 and was stationed in Liberty County, Texas. In May of 1994 he was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to Rio Grand City and then to Lubbock. He became a Texas Ranger in 1995 and was assigned to Mt. Pleasant in East, Texas, In 1996 he transferred to Nacogoches, Texas.
