Eddie Almond joined the Texas DPS in 1967 with the Texas Highway Patrol. He promoted to the Rangers in 1977 and served in Companies E and B, in Big Spring, Garland, and Paris. His Ranger specializations were SWAT and blood spatter analysis. He received citations for his work on the Branch Davidian investigation from the FBI, ATF, and Dept. of Justice. He attained the rank of Sergeant and retired from the Rangers in 1993. During his law enforcement career he also worked for the Lubbock Police Department, and as Commander for the Regional Drug Task Force in Paris, Texas. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. |
