Notes	Norris Lane Akin joined the Texas DPS in 1976 with the Texas Highway Patrol. He acheived the rank of Lieutenant and served in Companies A, B, C, and D during his tenure. His Ranger specializations were Region I Tactical Team Instructor, forensic hypnosis, and crime scene investigation. He received the ATF Service Award in 1993, and the Criminal Justice Association Officer of the Year Award in 1996 and 2000. He was also in the Narcotics Division, and worked as DFW Airport Police, and in corporate security. He retired from the Rangers in 2003.
