Notes |
Born in 1943, Michael Boyett grew up in a military environment. His father, a career officer in the US Air Force, moved frequently across the US, exposing his family too much of the history of this county. Using his vivid imagination, Michael began to draw imaginary scenes of frontier America and recognition in school of his artistic talent encouraged him to explore the various forms of art. Combining his growing talent with his natural love for his nation's heritage seemed to create an almost inseparable pathway for his career. After attending the University of Texas Art School, Michael joined the US Army, where he served as an infantryman during the worst years of the Vietnam War. It was there that he was wounded in an enemy ambush. That, along with other experiences in Vietnam, burned a deep sensitivity into his nature, which is vividly expressed in his works of art today. Interest in heroic historical America, coupled with desire for realism, lead to the development of his moving and powerful style in which he dramatically stresses the qualities of movement and detail. Michael believes that each sculpture should give the viewer the sensation that he has actually witnessed an event in history. For nearly 30 years, Michael has been a professional fine artist, establishing a considerable reputation in the art world. His sculptures have been produced and sold by various nationally known corporations, fine art galleries, museums, dealerships, and distributed throughout the US and many foreign countries to thousands of collectors. In recent years, Michael has been involved in sculpting monument size art, including life size bust portraits, for public, private and corporate commissions. All sculptures from his studio are produced in both fine pewter and/or classic hot pour bronze in limited and registered editions, using the finest alloys available for capturing the intricate details in each of his pieces of art. Michael Boyett guarantees that each sculpture from his studio is an excellent piece of original fine art, bearing his signature, copyright date, along with the individual registered or limited edition number on each work of art. All sculptures are made in the USA. It is Michael's goal to make available to you, at an affordable price, a unique part of our American heritage represented through his fine art sculptures.
