$500 note fifth issue in the name of the Republic of Texas. Printed by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson. Commerce & Industry seated center, Liberty at right. Funded and cancelled stamp on front. Red back with star and TEXAS. When notes were redeemed, they were stamped "Funded and Cancelled" and physically cut to avoid presentation for payment again. |
