Notes	Richard Sweaney joined the Texas DPS in 1975 with the Texas Highway Patrol. He attained the rank of Captain, serving in Companies D and B in Harlingen and Garland. His Ranger specializations were in forensic hypnosis, blood spatter interpretation, negotiation, and tracking. He retired from the Rangers in 2008. He also served in the U.S. Army, and worked as a rancher.
